Aye chihuahua! Just a week left before Christmas, and your Google searches are getting desperate. Here are 8 ideas to help you find the perfect gift for her!
Peek-a-Boo Mugs
These things are just cool. Slightly larger than a stocking stuffer, but a great addition to whatever else you choose to get that sulky teen, collegiate scholar, or your totally hip second cousin once removed who you don't really know, but drew as your secret Santa. Urban Outfitters sells them for $12. (On the right, you'll see the Celestial Cat, but UO also has peek-a-boo huskies!)
2. Accidentally Wes Anderson
For the photographer, film lover, or travel enthusiast. This coffee table book is addictively aesthetic, and features 200+ breath taking (or just pastel and symmetric) locations. Learn more about the project here, but save money by buying it in-store at your local Barnes & Noble!
3. Printed Tea Towels
Will she ever use them? That is absolutely beside the point--she will love them! Heath and Harrow is a Maine-based Etsy shop who have a personal goal of creating the cutest items to grace the Internet. Bears, lobsters, sloths, kittens, birch trees and pine cones are all featured--so be sure to pick out her favorite critter or fauna :)
4. A Reliable Chemex
A Chemex is a superb gift, because it has a timeless, classic aesthetic and enables its user to keep up with life in the Twenty First century. Many places sell them, but the cheapest 5 star rated Chemex comes from Crate & Barrel.
5. One or More Hanging Plants
Hanging plants enliven any environment, even semi depressing and claustrophobic dorm rooms :) One of the lowest maintenance and most verdant houseplants is called a Pothos, or Devil's Ivy, and can easily be found at your local Home Depot.
Only downside: Hard to wrap.
6. Ina Garten Cookbook
Admittedly, cooking is not for everyone, but if she's culinarily inclined, send a new or used copy her way! My top three favorites are: Foolproof, Cooking for Jeffrey, and Back to Basics. I hope she likes them too :)
7. Exhibition Posters
For the cultured Cosmopolitan. SolarPrint on Society6 have heaps of high quality options.
8. Ethically Sourced Jewelry
If you're looking for a gift that's both meaningful and hip, perhaps look into 31 Bits. I love this company because it's got Madewell quality and style pieces, but the products are made by Ugandan jewelry designers (who receive the proceeds).
